Optimal Healing
Flexiglide is a resorbable protective film that minimizes tissue attachment and can be used in a variety of applications – tendon, nerve and soft tissue. Flexiglide
is indicated for the use of temporary wound support, to reinforce soft tissues where weakness exists or for the repair of defects that require the addition of a reinforcing material to obtain the desired surgical result.
Surgical Indications & Applications
- Wrap around end-to-end nerve repair/nerve graft to prevent neuroma formation
- Wrap compressed/injured nerves and tendons
- Prevent peritendinous adhesions
- Promote flexor tendon gliding
- Carpal Tunnel primary and revision procedures
- Tarsal Tunnel procedures
- Achilles reconstruction
- Protect and support soft tissue during healing
- Minimize soft tissue adhesions

Bioresorbable
Flexiglide is manufactured from 100% micro-biologically safe synthetic material.
Degradation of Flexiglide occurs
through hydrolysis leading to gradual reduction of molecular weight. Flexiglide
sheets retain initial mechanical
properties up to 10 weeks providing support and protection
to thehealing tissue. Whereafter, rapid loss of mechanical
strength and gradual mass loss occurs. The final degradation
products, lactic acid and -hydroxy-hexanoic acid, are
resorbed, metabolized and excreted by the body. |
