Guy Mayer
President & CEO
Guy Mayer has served as an executive with a number of public and private medical device companies including American Hospital Supply Corporation, Picker International, Zimmer Inc., Visen Medical, Inc., and Etex Corporation. Before joining Ascension, he served as President and CEO of Tutogen Medical, Inc. where he completed the sale of Tutogen Medical to RTI Biologics. Mayer holds a B.A. in history and political science from the University of Ottawa. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for Spire Corporation (spir) and other private medical device companies. |

Jerry Klawitter
Founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Jerome Klawitter has worked exclusively in the field of medical implant device design and development for the past 43 years. Dr. Klawitter had a 14-year academic career with faculty positions in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Clemson University and the Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Orthopedic Surgery at Tulane University. He was a founder and President of Hemex, Inc. which successfully developed and marketed a carbon heart valve replacement of his design. Dr. Klawitters background is in material science with a focus on carbon and ceramic materials. He founded Ascension Orthopedics to develop innovative joint replacements made of carbon for use in the upper and lower extremities. He holds a B.S. degree in Ceramic Engineering from Alfred University, a M.S. degree in Ceramic Engineering, and a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering from Clemson University. |

Bob Johnston
Chief Financial Officer
L. Robert Johnston, Jr. has industry experience as CFO of multiple companies including Tutogen Medical, Inc., Power Medical Interventions, Inc., Cellomics, Inc. and Oncormed, Inc. While at Tutogen, he was instrumental in the growth of the company and its ultimate successful sale to RTI Biologics, Inc. Johnston has a M.B.A. from the University of Virginia’s Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. |

David Furr
Senior Vice President of Global Quality, Regulatory & Clinical Affairs
David C. Furr has extensive experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory & Clinical Affairs. Prior to joining Ascension, Mr. Furr was an industry consultant for 7 years, as President of FDC Services, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in quality, regulatory and clinical services for the orthopedic, medical device and pharmaceutical industries. With 30 years of healthcare industry experience, Mr. Furr has held senior Quality Assurance, and Regulatory/Clinical positions at Boston Scientific, Zimmer, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Greer Laboratories. He holds a B.S. degree in Biology/Microbiology from Texas State University and an M.S. degree in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs from the Temple University School of Pharmacy.

Clive Scott
Senior Vice President of Global Research, Development & Operations
Clive Scott held senior level positions in Product Development and Operations for Zimmer and Smith and Nephew. During his 30 years in the orthopedic industry Scott has also managed engineering groups for both Biomet and Synthes. Clive has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Westminster in London, and M.S. degree in the same field from Cranfield University in Bedfordshire, England, and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine, CA. |

Cliff Seliga
Senior Vice President of Global Marketing
Clifton J. Seliga has been active in the medical industry for over 30 years, holding high-level positions at Zimmer, Inc., Etex Corporation, and Tutogen Medical, Inc. Seliga received a M.S. in Anatomy from Saint Louis University, and a M.B.A. in Marketing and Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management. |

William F. Warrender
Senior Vice President of Global Sales
Bill Warrender brings more than 25 years of sales, marketing and general management experience to the executive team. Warrender was most recently based in Pennsylvania as President of Medartis, Inc. and has held management positions with Encore Orthopedics, Smith & Nephew, and Zimmer, among others. Warrender has a B.S. in Marketing and Management from LaSalle University and an M.B.A. in Management and Finance from the University Of Notre Dame. |
